WHAT IS MIGCARE?

MigCare is an Erasmus+ project that has the purpose of efficiently training
the migrants through gamification processes to work in the care giving sector.

INTELLECTUAL OUTPUTS

The development of MigCare will be divided into 5 main Intellectual Outputs, with specific activities and tasks:

IO1 – RESEARCH AND NEEDS ANALYSIS OF FRONTLINE CARE WORKERS

A survey will be conducted in order to help the consortium decide the appropriate training material for the MigCare project. The main objectives will be to analyse and compare across two partner countries:
– the learning needs of social care sectors
– the training methods of professional workers.
– e-learning delivery and development methods

The partners will organize as well focus groups with representatives of the target group to find out their needs and ideas about the current gaps in the training field.

The partners will prepare a short summary report, outlining the main issues arising from the desktop research and from the focus groups

IO2 – ADAPTING SERIOUS GAME LEARNING PROCESSES TO THE NEEDS OF THE TARGET GROUP

Preparation of the training modules and material to the training needs of immigrants.

This output will relate to MigCare serious game’s mechanisms and its methodological guides, in order to develop a course tailored to immigrants. A campaign will be made to raise awareness amongst the target group and explain the value of receiving a training through serious games in social care issues which will consist of helping migrants and caregivers towards their learning.

The partners will write a guide to outline the practical methodologies and to support learners in getting the most out of the course. It will also explain the format and the media used to the MigCare platform.

IO3 – PILOTING THE SERIOUS GAME TRAINING PROGRAM

The MigCare training programme will be piloted twice during the project with learners (refugees) from Greece, Italy and Austria.

Piloting activities will consist of:
– recruiting learners from social work sectors to undertake the MigCare e-course
– a seminar to raise awareness on Caregiving Issues
– two face to face group sessions following learners’ completion of the e-course to undertake a reflective learning process about course contents including comments, evaluation and suggestions for improvements.

Following the completion of both pilot phases, each partner will write a summary report of its national pilots.

Final adaptations will be made to the MigCare training programme (content and delivery methods) as a result of the feedback gained through these piloting phase. In addition, an online guide will be developed within the European MigCare Academy. It will be used by anyone accessing the Academy.

IO4 – DEVELOPMENT OF THE ONLINE EUROPEAN MIGCARE ACADEMY

Flexible pedagogical frameworks are needed to underpin e-learning environments in order to ensure that they effectively address the individual learning approaches of a diverse population of social care workers in the partner countries.

Learners will follow innovative online learning content (podcasts, video, blogs). The content will facilitate shared learning experiences between migrants, social care sector workers across the partnership and VET trainers. Anyone expressing interest in the course will fill in a short registration form and obtain access to the the online European MigCare Academy.

Webinars, run by trainers and learners, will be provided to a wide target group of workers.

IO5 – DISSEMINATION, EXPLOITATION AND SUSTAINABILITY

The aim is to disseminate the training materials and products to a wide audience of migrants.

Partners will the logo for all documents related to project activities and dissemination. They will organize a press conference to raise awareness of the project results. A dedicated Website will present the project to the target group.

After developing a joint ownership and exploitation agreement, partners will share the MigCare materials through websites and networks.
